1 place to expect is windows updates.
Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. Confirm if whatsoever updates were installed on that date.
On the WIndows update page click on Advanced Options then Choose how updates are delivered.
On the "Chose how updates are delivered" page if the kickoff option is turned on, the MS is using your computer as a "mule" to deliver updates to other people. That would account for network apply.
Also check in the Recycle bin, if someone was using your system and they were sloppy, at that place could be deleted files there ("sloppy" because in that location is an option to delete files without putting them in the recycle bin).

If install the TCPIPView utility, will I be able to view what was downloaded on eleven/xvi/2017 during a specific fourth dimension period? Something downloaded that used fifteen GB, however, I cannot find information technology. I practise know that it occurred on 11/xvi/2017 between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
Is the TCPIPView utility safe to download?

I went to the Windows Update History, there were no updates for xi/xvi/2017.
I do not see the "Avant-garde Options" on the Windows Update History page. Is in that location some other method to get to the Avant-garde Options?
Is there a method to view what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 during a specific fourth dimension period? Something downloaded that used 15 GB, yet, I cannot discover it. I exercise know that information technology occurred on 11/16/2017 between 5:xxx PM and 6:thirty PM.

Hi, Paul, TCPIPView is safe, I would not put yous wrong . . .
Actually TCPIPView is more than for monitoring your network activity should this sort of thing happen once again . . .
Every bit for what was downloaded on 11/16/2017 between 5:30 PM and six:30 PM
There are 2 possible ways to find that out:
1.
Open Windows File Explorer and double click on your C Drive in 'This PC'
Click in the Search Box
The Search Ribbon should become agile
Click Date Modified drop downwardly and choose Today
Then click the blue text in the search box, a agenda will announced
Select the 16th and requite it time to search - it tin be a while
In the resulting search, you should be able to see what downloaded . . .
ii.
Click your Start Button, type Event Viewer and hitting Enter
This will open the Event Viewer app
On the left, click the pointer beside Windows logs to aggrandize information technology
For each log, click it and scroll down through the events to discover that date and time
This might give you some clue as to what happened at that time and what was downloaded . . .

I volition try both methods and get back to you with my results. I will as well endeavor the TCPIPView utility. Is the utility TCPView or TCPIPView? Sad for all the questions, I see TCPView has neat reviews.
I cannot express my concern, as I had my identity stolen iv times and caused enormous problems.

I use information technology a lot, it is rubber to utilize, I would not endanger you in any mode.
I am merely here to help and would not advise on downloading anything I have non already checked out myself . . .

Distressing, I do not know of any way of identifying what was up or downloaded during a specific time. There are many utilities that tin can monitor yous cyberspace utilize. Hello Dave,
I used the event viewer to view my PC activeness for eleven/16/2017 between five:00 PM and six:30 PM. I see several warning letters and fault messages. Information technology appears something was trying to download and install some apps or security files, I'm not sure.
Could I electronic mail you a couple of screen shots of the event viewer and become your feedback? I really do not understand what was occurring on eleven/xvi/2017, but it did terminal for nearly 2 hours and looks a chip suspicious to me. I do not see a way to attach screen shots on this community web site, possibly I can reply back with the text?

Hi Paul, sorry i had to get some sleep . . .
Can you lot exercise one thing for me:
Click your Starting time Button, type winver and hit Enter
In the resulting dialog, take a note of what version No. of Windows 10 you are running (1709, 1703, 1607 . . . etc.)
Due to the amount of data that has been downloaded, I am guess it was the Fall Creators Update that was downloading. If you are not running 1709, then that is the nearly likely scenario . . .
Of you want to post screenshots you tin do that here or upload them to the cloud (DropBox,OneDrive . . .etc.) and postal service a link here and I will have a look for you lot . . .
